MANILA, Philippines — Two individuals, including a pregnant woman, were found dead in a makeshift house in Port Area, Manila on Thursday morning.
A report from the Manila Police District’s Homicide Section said a woman identified only as alias Reynalyn, likely aged 25-30 years old, and Almira Patata, 25, were seen lying in a pool of blood at a house located inside the Baseco Compound.
Witnesses told the police that they heard loud noises, something like a commotion, near the victims’ residence at around 3 a.m.
Witnesses added that minutes after the noises were heard, they went to check the house and discovered two dead bodies.
In an initial investigation, police found that the victims bore multiple gunshot wounds.
Police Major Sergeant Rey San Pedro, investigator on the case, told INQUIRER.net in a text message that Patata was pregnant.
Recovered from the scene were four pieces of spent bullet shells and one deformed slug.
Authorities have yet to identify the perpetrators of the killing. /jpv
