Police confirm cop’s gun used in killing of 6-year-old boy 

MANILA, Philippines — National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) confirmed that the gun surrendered by a police officer was used in the killing of 6-year-old boy in Caloocan on Sunday.

NCRPO said results from the ballistic examination of Philippine National Police’s Crime Lab showed that the .45 caliber pistol of Police Corporal Rocky delos Reyes was used in the killing of Grade 1 pupil Gian Habal.

“Advance info from Crime Lab shows that the gun surrendered by Delos Reyes was the one used in killing the child,” NCRPO said a message to reporters.

Delos Reyes, who was accused of killing Habal, is facing murder raps at the Caloocan City Prosecutor’s Office.

Habal was playing outside his house in Camarin in Caloocan City when he was hit with by a stray bullet as the police officer was pursuing a drug suspect. Habal died in the hospital. /ee
