School principal nabbed in buy-bust, P80K worth of shabu seized

ORMOC CITY, Philippines – A school principal is now facing charges for allegedly selling illegal drugs and for possession of an unlicensed gun during a buy-bust in Calbayog City, Samar.

Arnold Abellar, 46, was arrested in a drug bust conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of the Calbayog City Police Station at about 8:30 p.m. on Monday, April 29.

Abellar was apprehended in Barangay Carmen in Calbayog City but tried to evade arrest after learning that he was dealing with an undercover police officer.

Recovered from his possession were packs of shabu worth at least P80, 000 and a .357 caliber revolver with five live bullets.

Police Lt. Col Joie Pacito Yape, commander of the Calbayog City police, said the suspect was considered a high value target and was on the police list of drug suspects.  /muf
