200K local, overseas jobs up for grabs in Labor Day job fair

MANILA, Philippines — Some 200,000 local and overseas jobs will be offered during the nationwide job and business opportunities fair on May 1, the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) said.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said the Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan job and business fair will be held in different parts of the country in celebration of Labor Day.

“Total job openings are expected at 200,000 with close to 1,500 local enterprises and placement agencies participating,” Bello said in a statement Sunday.

Among the local job vacancies to be offered during the job fair are posts for customer service representatives, production machine operators, carpenters, security guards, call center agents, microfinance officers, and factory workers, among others.

Employers will also be hiring for overseas posts.

The Bureau of Local Employment said among the workers to be hired overseas are nurses, factory workers, cleaners, technicians, bakers, nursing aides, food servers, auto repair personnel, service crew, and barista.

Successful applicants will be deployed to different countries such as New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Taiwan, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Poland, and Australia, depending on the location requirements of the job.

Applicants are advised to bring the following:

multiple copies of resume
2 x 2 ID photo
photocopy of training certificates
PRC license (if applicable)
Certificate of employment for those who were previously employed
diploma
