SAN PEDRO CITY — Two were killed while one was injured after a motorcycle they were riding fell off a cliff in Sta. Maria town in Romblon province early Sunday.
A report from the Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan police identified the fatalities as Lloyd Romero, 21, and Joseph Mustasa,18.
The driver, Angelo Miñeque, 24, survived and was undergoing treatment at the Romblon Provincial Hospital in Odiongan town.
According to police, the friends were on their way home to Barangay (village) Bonga from attending a fiesta in Barangay Calagonsao when the accident happened around 3 a.m.
The police noted that they were drunk.
Police said the victims were approaching a sharp curve on the national road when Miñeque reportedly “miscalculated and lost control” of the motorcycle that eventually overshot and fell down a two-meter-deep ravine.
They were taken to a hospital but Romero and Mustasa had died. /je
