KMU tags Duterte, private companies in ‘Anti-Worker’ matrix
MANILA, Philippines—Labor group Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) tagged President Rodrigo Duterte, his children Sara and Paolo, and some private companies in their “Anti-Worker” matrix on Saturday.
KMU Executive Vice Chairman Lito Ustarez presented their own version of the matrix in a media forum at Annabel’s Restaurant in Quezon City on Saturday.
The labor group’s matrix also tagged Duterte’s children, Davao City Mayor Sara and ex-vice Mayor Paolo, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo, senatorial candidate Christopher “Bong” Go and Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III.
Also included in the matrix is US President Donald Trump and China’s Xi Jinping.
“This matrix shows who’s behind the gross attacks on workers’ wages, job security and labor and human rights,” Ustarez said in a statement. “On top of the list is President Rodrigo Duterte who has been hell-bent on establishing his fascist dictatorship to further promote the interests of American and Chinese big-businesses.”

He added that those included in their matrix will be the target of their Labor Day protest, set to happen on May 1. The workers’ protest also seeks a demand for a P750 nationwide wage hike.
Previously, the Manila Times released a “association matrix” and accompanying story, tagging several media organizations in an alleged plot to oust Duterte. Malacañang confirmed the existence of the matrix. /jpv
