MANILA, Philippines — The public hospital being built in the town of Bocaue is being hailed as one of the best and one of the biggest projects in the municipality of Bocaue and in the whole province of Bulacan.
But the project was almost canceled because of intrigues from other sectors.
Bocaue Mayor Joni Villanueva did not let those intrigues get in the way of her dream of building a public hospital for the people of Bocaue.
Bocaue never had a public hospital and the nearest hospitals are in the neighboring towns of Sta. Maria and Malolos.
But after several months of hard work Mayor Joni’s determination paid off. The Department of Health agreed to build in Bocaue an extension of the Jose B. Lingad Hospital which is based in San Fernando, Pampanga.
It was agreed that the DOH will shoulder the cost for the hospital’s construction as well as its operation while the Municipality of Bocaue will purchase the land where the hospital will be located.
The hospital will have 50 rooms and will specialize on trauma and burn patients.
It will be operational by the end of the year.
“The people of Bocaue deserves a public hospital.I won’t let any intrigue ruin it,” said Mayor Joni who is running for reelection. /muf
