MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck off the coast of Sarangani town in Davao Occidental at 9:34 a.m. Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
On Wednesday night, a magnitude 3.7 earthquake was likewise recorded in the area.
Phivolcs added that the earthquake’s epicenter was traced 267 kilometers southeast of Sarangani, with a depth of 90 kilometers.
No tsunami warnings have been raised.
Phivolcs said it is not expecting aftershocks. /gsg
