MANILA, Philippines—A man was hit by a car along the EDSA-Kamuning intersection in Quezon City Wednesday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.

MMDA Metrobase Medic 164 Annia Santos identified the lone victim as Eduardo Sagawinit,26.

A bystander who refused to be named told INQUIRER.net that Sagawinit was hit by a red Mitsubushi Adventure bearing licence plate VDM 664 around 10:06 a.m. while he was escaping after he allegedly shoplifted from an “ukay-ukay” (used clothing) store nearby.
