Comelec DQ order set aside

05:31 AM April 24, 2019

MANILA, Philipines — The Supreme Court has set aside the disqualification order against Baguio City mayoral candidate Edgar Avila.

Avila, an incumbent councilor running for the post to be vacated by Mayor Mauricio Domogan, was disqualified by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for filing his certificate of candidacy using the old format, which did not have item No. 22.

The item asks whether the candidate has been found guilty of or has pending criminal or administrative cases. —Dona Z. Pazzibugan
