MANILA, Philippines — Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda said she has already recommended to the Sangguniang Panglalawigan the declaration of a state of calamity over the entire province following the 6.1-magnitude earthquake on Monday.
“Nag-recommend na ako ng sangguniang panglalawigan na mag-declare na ng state of calamity kasi kailangan natin tulungan yung casualty natin at saka yung bahay nila kung paano natin mare-repair,” Pineda told ANC’s Head Start.
Pineda also hoped that they can use the province’s calamity fund to help at least 40 families affected by the earthquake.
“Para magamit yung calamity fund at saka yung 40 families na nagkaroon din ng damage ang bahay nila nandun sa evacuation center,” he said.
Eleven fatalities have so far been recorded in Pampanga province. /muf
