Woman shoots, wounds cop husband in QC

MANILA, Philippines — A woman allegedly accidentally shot and injured her policeman husband and another woman as they were drinking in Quezon City on Monday.

According to a report from the Quezon City Police District, Patrolman Wilson Pepito was drinking at around 5:30 p.m. with his wife Angeline and two other women identified as Janet Macahilig and a certain Marilyn as they celebrated his 34th birthday.

Police on Tuesday said that while they were drinking, Angeline allegedly grabbed Pepito’s 9 mm service firearm. The gun then went off, hitting Pepito. The bullet went through the policeman and hit Macahilig who was seated nearby, police added.

The victims are now recuperating at the Tala Hospital, police said.

Investigators recovered the gun used in the crime inside the policeman’s room. Also recovered were the gun’s magazine, nine bullets, and a spent shell.
