MANILA, Philippines – The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3), Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2 (LRT-1 and LRT-2) Philippine National Railways (PNR) resumed operations on Tuesday, after Monday afternoon’s magnitude 6.1 earthquake.
Department of Transportation Undersecretary for Railways Timothy John Batan said that the railway systems were found fit for operations after structural and track inspections were completed.
Regular passenger service for all train systems resumed by 5:30 a.m. with train deployments starting at 4:30 a.m., Batan added.
The management of the train stations suspended operations on Monday afternoon after a 6.1-magnitude quake hit Metro Manila and parts of Luzon.

In a Twitter post, MRT-3 management said 15 trains were operational and 14 were running as of 5:55 a.m.
Meanwhile, seven trains of LRT-2 were running as of 5:30 a.m.
Update: As os April 23, 2019 at 5:30 am, 7 trains/28 coaches running with 7 minutes headway. Light to moderate volume of passengers on both westbound and eastbound directions.

For its part, the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), which manages LRT-1, announced that its trains were fully operational as of 5:30 a.m.
Its tracks, catenary, buildings and facilities were fully inspected and confirmed safe, the LRMC said in a Facebook post.
