“The family of the slain orthodontist, Dr. Vicky Rumhor, in the City of Calbayog in Samar remains clueless as to the motive behind the killing of their family matriarch,” Sheryl Mendoza, spokesperson of the family, said in a statement.

Mendoza pointed out that based on comments on Romhur’s Facebook, she was a “kind-hearted woman who was well loved by her family, friends, and community.”

Authorities in the Calbayog town have not identified a suspect in the killing and are still investigating the incident, she said.

She also noted that the family revealed that Rumhor’s niece, Catherine Rumhor-Johnson, was also gunned down in 2018, but the case remained unsolved.

Mendoza said Rumhor’s remains lie at the family mausoleum in Calbayog. /ee
