MMDA wants Edsa bus terminals closed by May

MANILA, Philippines – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is eyeing the closure of all bus terminals along Edsa  next month after it has coordinated with concerned local government units.

The dry run of the ban on provincial buses along Edsa started Monday.

Dry run participation

MMDA Special Operations Head Bong Nebrija encouraged motorists to participate in the dry run to let them know the areas for improvement before its full implementation.

“Ineencourage po natin ang ating mga bus operators na kung pwede po magparticipate sana sa sinasagawa nating dry run para makita po natin kung ano po yung mga areas for improvement, mga pagkukulang na kailangan natin i-correct,” Nebrija said in an interview with Radyo Inquirer.

Valenzuela, Sta. Rosa options

Sa dry run, wala pong hulihan ‘to. Rosa. So pwede na,” he added.

Nebrija said this is to correct the mistake of urban design in Edsa: “Kailangan po natin gawin ito para po i-correct yung pagkakamali ng urban design natin sa EDSA, ang daming terminal. So lahat po ito unti unti nating babaguhin.” /gsg
