Duterte to Filipinos on Easter: Unite for the country
MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte expressed hope that the country would unite to build the nation, particularly with the coming elections.
“I trust that this season of Easter will be a blessed time for us to rekindle our shared commitment in nation-building, especially in the upcoming midterm elections,” Duterte said in his Easter message.
“May it become an exercise of integrity and reflect the true will of the people. It is my hope that the evil caused by the societal ills we are confronting today will be swept away by our strong faith in the Almighty,” he added.
Aside from this, he called on the public to choose the “good and uplifting” in order to attain peace, as he described the Easter season as an occasion of hope and inspiration.
“Let us strive to be instruments of peace in our families and communities and foster greater harmony and understanding wherever and whenever it is most needed,” he said. /cbb
