MANILA, Philippines — Candidates running for a political position in the upcoming elections are again allowed to campaign on Saturday after a two-day ban.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) earlier banned candidates for various political posts from campaigning on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday in observance of Holy Week.
This, the Comelec said, is stated under Comelec Resolution No. 19429, which prohibits campaigning on April 18 and 19.

According to Comelec, campaigning on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday can be considered as an election offense.

Following the resumption of the campaign trail, the Comelec reminds the public that there are only 23 days left before the election day.
Election is set on May 13, while the last day of campaigning is on May 11.
Comelec said that there are more than 60 million registered voters for the upcoming poll. /je
