MANILA, Philippines — Police arrested three suspected ‘Bukas kotse’ gang members in Quezon City on Wednesday.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Brig. General Joselito Esquivel Jr. on Thursday identified the arrested suspects as Kim San Juan alias Kimpoy, 21, David Sumampong, 18, and Emmanuel Cabano, 18.

Investigation showed that a businessman parked his car in front of a bar on Scout Madrinan corner Tomas Morato Avenue at about 4 a.m. on Wednesday and was assisted by Cabano.

An hour later, the businessman saw the door of his vehicle unlocked and his P98,000 cash inside missing and promptly reported the incident to authorities.

CCTV footage in the area showed the suspects breaking into the vehicle and fleeing toward Barangay Laging Handa.

Operatives from the QCPD-Kamuning station launched a followup operation that led to the arrest of the suspects, who will face appropriate charges./gsg
