Travelers continue to flock to ports on Maundy Thursday

MANILA, Philippines — People who wish to spend their Holy Week holidays in their provinces continued to flock to ports across the country early morning of Maundy Thursday.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has monitored a total of 29,910 outbound passengers in ports nationwide from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. on April 18.

The number is still higher than the passengers recorded at the same period on Tuesday, which was at 24,664.

Majority of the passengers were recorded at Southern Tagalog provinces at 10,545, followed by Central Visayas with 7,363 passengers.

Moreover, 3,285 passengers were recorded in Northern Mindanao ports while Eastern Visayas registered a total of 2,699 travelers.
