Passengers in seaports breach 100K mark on Holy Wednesday
MANILA, Philippines — The number of passengers in seaports across the country climbed to 100,000 on Holy Wednesday, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said.
The PCG recorded a total of 104,855 outbound passengers in various port nationwide from 6 a.m. to 12 nn.
This is four times the number of passengers monitored in the early hours of Wednesday (12 a.m. to 6 a.m.), which was at 24,664.
Most passengers were from Western Visayas provinces, such as Antique, Aklan, Iloilo, and Capiz, where 18,959 passengers were recorded.
This was followed by ports in Central Visayas with 18,177 passengers and Northern Mindanao ports with 16,155 passengers.
