Top PNP officials assess security at PITX, Naia, Pasay bus terminals
MANILA, Philippines — Top officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP), including its chief, Gen. Oscar Albayalde, spokesman Col. Bernard Banac; and National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Major Gen. Guillermo Eleazar inspected bus terminals and airports in Metro Manila on Holy Wednesday.
Albayalde along with Eleazar, Banac, and Pasay Police District Director Brigadier Gen. Bernard Yang checked police assistance desks and the security of passengers at the Victory Liner Bus Terminal in Pasay City.
Albayalde also looked into the security at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 3 and interacted with officers of PNP’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team.
Lastly, the PNP chief inspected the terminals at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX).
Police assistance desks and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) command posts were set up in all terminals and airports to secure passengers traveling during the Holy Week.

Article continues after this advertisement“So far, okay [naman] not only the security of the PNP but also supporta ng mga iba’t ibang ahensya ng gobyerno,” the PNP chief told reporters after his inspection at PITX.
(So far, security is OK, including support from the PNP and other agencies of the government.)
“Maraming mga involved na agencies and we are happy to note na lahat ng mga dapat ma-involve ay nandyan ang kanilang mga desks,” he added.

Earlier, PNP officials inspected the Araneta Cubao Bus Terminal in Quezon City.
Albayalde said police had not seized any contraband from passengers. /ee
