Search for ‘dad and daughter’ in Notre Dame photo goes viral

A netizen tweeted a heartwarming photo of a ‘father and daughter’ playing in front of the Notre Dame cathedral moments before the 850-year-old church was engulfed in flames.

Brooke Windsor tweeted, “I took this photo as we were leaving #NotreDame about an hour before it caught on fire. I almost went up to the dad and asked if he wanted it. Now I wish I had. Twitter if you have any magic, help him find this.”

However, Windsor added that she was not sure whether the two were a father-daughter tandem. “I do not know for sure if it was a dad and daughter, it’s simply the dynamic I observed from them while debating on interrupting this moment.”

Still, Windsor hoped that the internet could help her find the people she captured in the photo.

The Notre Dame cathedral caught fire early Monday morning, April 16.

Firefighters fought to save the landmark for 12 hours before it declared the fire out. Notre Dame’s spire and the roof collapsed.

The cathedral housed relics, religious replicas, and artworks which include the ‘Holy Crown of Thorns,’ a piece of the cross and a portrait of St. Thomas Aquinas.

French President Emmanuel Macron pledged to “rebuild the Notre Dame all together” while luxury goods conglomerate LVMH chair Bernard Arnault donated €300 million to the restoration efforts to rebuild the 850-year-old structure. /ee
