MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte will spend the Holy Week with his family in his hometown Davao City, Malacañang said Tuesday.
“Bahay. As far as I know, (sa) bahay lang (siya),” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a Palace briefing when asked where the President will spend the Lenten season.
But on Wednesday, Duterte is set to lead the campaign rally of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) in Batangas City.
In his Holy Week message last year, Duterte, who had been known to mock the members and teachings of the Catholic Church, urged Filipinos to “reflect on the Catholic values and embody selflessness, compassion and love.”
