MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Embassy in Paris is checking if there are any casualties in the fire that broke out at the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Tuesday.
In a statement, the DFA said it is “monitoring developments” on the blaze that ravaged the iconic cathedral Monday night.

“The Philippine Embassy in Paris is checking with authorities if there are any victims due to the incident,” the DFA added.
It noted that according to reports coming from France, “the fire broke out after the end of visiting hours.”
“Officials said that the incident was probably caused by the renovations that the church is undergoing,” the DFA added. /muf
