Tan, Pink Team wrest away titles in Cetba monthly bowling tourney

CRISTILYN Tan and the Pink Team emerged the top winners in last week’s Ladies Singles and Team monthly championship tournament of the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (CETBA) at the SM Bowling lanes, SM City Cebu.

Tan downed 1,104 pinfalls highlighted by a 201 in game two to best 10 other finalists in the six-game singles finals.

Veteran bowler Vivian Padawan settled in second place with 1,075 pinfalls showing no ill effects of a recent shoulder injury. She scored a 210 in game five.

Rounding off the top three lady finishers of the monthly singles championships was Japanese Emie Osada who knocked down 1,066 pins.

FEATURED STORIES

Fourth to 10th placers were Tess Regino (1,055 pinfalls), Cynthia Uybengkee (1,012), Ester Francisco (1,008), Lyn Oka (991), Joyce Spikeman (974), Lizel Briones (952) and Jean Austria (927).

Meanwhile, the Pink Team ruled the team event with a total accumulated score of 5,504 pinfalls in the three-week competition.

The team is composed of veteran CETBA lady bowlers Inday de Gracia, Oka and Spikeman.

The Green Team of Padawan, Uybengkee, Austria and Connie Lagcao finished second with 5,263 pinfalls while Red which is composed of Tess Regino, Rose Camero and Lizel Briones, finished third. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
