MANILA, Philippines – A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck Cagayan province on Monday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In its earthquake bulletin, the Phivolcs said the quake hit 63 kilometers (km) southwest of Calayan, Cagayan, at 9:32 a.m. at a depth of 25 km.
It was felt at Intensity III in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, and Intensity II in Sinait, Ilocos Sur.
Instrumental Intensity III was felt in Claveria, Cagayan, and Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.
Meanwhile, Instrumental Intensity I was registered in Gonzaga, Cagayan, Phivolcs said.
Phivolcs warned of possible aftershocks, however, no damage could be expected from the quake. /cbb
