Student, merchandiser fall in anti-drug ops in Makati

MANILA, Philippines — A student and his accomplice were arrested for illegal possession of drugs and firearms and P1.5-million worth of shabu was seized from them during a buy-bust operation in Makati City on Friday afternoon.

Police identified the arrested suspects as John Revidad, 22, student from City University of Pasay; and Melvin Bulado, 21, a shopping mall merchandiser in Makati.

Police Lt. Jeson Vigilian and Police Lt. Arnel Perez led the police operation that led to the arrest of the suspects along M. Reyes St., corner Belarmino, Brgy Bangkal, Makati City at 4 p.m.

However, another suspect, Edgardo Sanchez Fontanilla, managed to flee and is now the subject of a police manhunt operation.

Seized from the suspects were four transparent sachet of shabu, three large plastic of shabu and 116 small transparent plastic of shabu valued at P1.5 million; one plastic of marijuana worth P2,000; one glass tube; marked money worth P5,000; .40-caliber handgun; nine pieces of live ammunition; and one piece .40-caliber magazine.

The suspects were brought to the police station for detention for charges of violations of the Republic Act 10591 in relation to the Omnibus Election Code and Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /jpv
