OLD MAN DROWNS

AN ELDERLY man drowned while swimming with family and friends in the waters off barangay Looc, Lapu-Lapu City, on Monday afternoon.
Police identified the fatality as Jesus Heberona, 66.

Police said Heberona, his wife and some friends went swimming past 3 p.m.

After eating by the shore, Heberona swam.

The victim was rushed to the Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital where he was declared dead by Dr. Bolivar Minoza.

GIRL ABUSED

A 3-YEAR-OLD girl was allegedly sexually molested by her young playmates in barangay Casili, Mandaue City.

Three persons reported to the Canduman police station that they saw three boys forcing their private parts into the girl’s mouth while they were playing in a grassy area last Saturday afternoon.

SPO3 Marissa Basiga, investigator of Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO), said the three boys, who were cousins, were referred to the City Social Welfare Service (CSWS) for counseling.

The boys’ parents also went to the barangay hall where they were exhorted to keep a closer eye on their children to avoid a repeat of the incident, said police./REPORTER JUCELL MARIE P. CUYOS
