QCPD deploys 5K officers to ensure public's safety during summer

MANILA, Philippines —  The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) will be deploying over 5,000 police officers and force multipliers to ensure the safety of its constituents during the summer break.

In a statement from the QCPD on Friday, 2,229 policemen and 3,213 force multipliers composed of barangay tanods, security guards and officers from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will ensure safety of the public.

QCPD said they will establish police assistance desks and tourist police assistance booths in areas such as transport terminals, churches and malls.

QCPD director Brigadier General Joselito Esquivel Jr. also enjoined the residents to make sure that their houses are locked when leaving for vacation.

Esquivel also noted that installing burglar alarms and CCTV could be useful for unexpected criminals such as akyat-bahay gang members.

The QCPD also encouraged the public to report any suspicious incidents or persons in their areas for prompt police assistance.
