To cope with the anticipated increase in vehicular volume in major and minor thoroughfares this holiday season, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ordered Tuesday the suspension of all ongoing repairs and construction projects in Metro Manila.
Public Works Undersecretary Romeo Momo said that the suspension would be effective for 21 days, or until January 2.
He added that the department tried to finish all its rehabilitation projects Tuesday but failed to do so.
“One project that remains unfinished is the repair of the Osmeña Flyover [in Makati]. Only [the repair of] one lane was completed,” Momo said.
