Sen. Villar: We are a ‘good dynasty’
MANILA, Philippines— We are a “good dynasty,” Senator Cynthia Villar admitted on Thursday.
Villar did not mince words when asked over ABS-CBN News Channel if she considers her family a political dynasty.
“A good dynasty,” she said.
But once a bill on anti-dynasty is passed into law, Villar said we will abide by it.
“We always follow the law and we just adjust to the law. Nothing personal,” she said. “Sa aming pamilya, wala namang maraming tatakbo. I mean, we were short of candidates.”
Villar is seeking reelection in the May 2019 polls while her daughter, Camille, is seeking a congressional seat as representative of Las Piñas.

Asked if there is a bad dynasty, the senator pointed to some dynasties, who were unable to return to politics.
Some dynasties, she said, managed to comeback because they maybe better than the ones who did not get reelected.
“So it’s the perception of people, especially us in Metro Manila,” said the senator.
“We can’t be a bad dynasty in Metro Manila. They are so intelligent. They will not allow you to be there if you’re not good,” she pointed out. /muf
