9 arrested in Makati shabu buy-bust

MANILA, Philippines — A 64-year-old man, his 17-year-old grandson and seven others were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Makati City Tuesday evening.

Police Lt. Col. Jeson Vigilla, who led the buy-bust operation, said they arrested Pascual Flores, 64, and his 17-year-old grandson inside their house at 305 Alagao St., Barangay Comembo in Makati City at 8:30 p.m.

Police also arrested Evangeline Grimpula, 49; Maria Theresa Geronimo, 44; Maximo Bersamina, 48; Agnes Umali, 34; Salvador Villamor, 47; Ross Alvarado, 41; and Angelo Velasquez, 31.

Seized were 53 pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a glass pipe, five cellphones, one Samsung tablet and P300 in marked money.

The suspects were brought to Makati police station for detention and the filing of criminal charges.
