Suspended LTFRB exec challenges accusers to a lie detector test

Samuel Jardin

MANILA, Philippines — Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Executive Director Samuel Jardin dared his accusers to take a lie detector test, saying they might be “seeking to destroy his name.”

“Kung pwede nga imbitahan siya dito tapos may lie detector dito para makita ng publiko kung sino ang nagsasabi nang totoo,” Jardin told ANC’s Headstart on Wednesday.

He was referring to a certain Michelle Sapangila who claimed she gave P4.6 million to Jardin to apply for a public utility vehicle franchise.

“I would not know. Maybe there are people behind her [Sapangila] seeking to destroy my name,” Jardin added.

Jardin was suspended for 90 days starting April 4 after he allegedly received P4.6 million from an applicant for a public utility vehicle franchise.

Sapangila claimed that she delivered P100,000 to Jardin’s office and gave the rest of the money to a certain Madame Lolit.

With this, the suspended LTFRB exec slammed Sapangila, saying her accusations were a “fabrication.”

“I will state categorically na yung kanyang saysay ay fabrication and a total falsehood,” Jardin said.

He also denied that he knew any Madame Lolit, who was claimed as one of his accomplices.

“I also do not know the Madam Lolit mentioned in the affidavit,” he said. /cbb
