MANILA, Philippines — “The biggest problem of our country is the government,” Senator Panfilo Lacson said Wednesday.
But the solution, he said, “lies on the face of the problem itself.”
“It is called good government,” Lacson said in a Twitter post.
The senator said voters should keep that in mind as they choose their next leaders in the coming May 13 polls.
“When we go to the polls next month, let us be mindful of that,” Lacson said.
“Maawa tayo sa bansa natin. Napag-iiwanan na tayo. Malayo na ang iba,” he added.

Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr. echoed Lacson’s remarks, saying that good government is about having “good government officials.”
“Good government is not about a better political system, systems mean nothing, but about good government officials,” Locsin said in another Twitter post, reacting to Lacson’s tweet.
“Elect the good; you get good government,” he added. /cbb
