LOOK: Protesters prepare to march toward Chinese Embassy

MANILA, Philippines — Various organizations started to converge early Tuesday near the Makati Central Fire Station ahead of a planned protest march toward the Chinese Embassy in Makati City.

The protest action is being held to call the government’s alleged inaction against the reported “invasion” of China in the West Philippine Sea

The protesters also expressed disgust over the supposed sellout of Philippine patrimonial assets through a loan agreement with China.

Bayan Muna chair and senatorial candidate Neri Colmenares, Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) secretary general Renato Reyes, actor-director Mae Paner, aka Juana Change attended the gathering.

The different groups brought miniature Philippine flags and banners condemning China. They also displayed placards and other banners to protest the Chinese presence in the disputed territories. /jpv
