MANILA, Philippines — A Facebook page has called the government’s attention on a plant box or center island blocking more than half of a pedestrian lane, making it difficult for people to cross the road in Quezon City.
“Kalyetista” posted photos dated April 4 showing the questionable construction that obstructs the pedestrian lane located on East Avenue near Quezon City Hall and the National Kidney and Transplant Institute.
The page said they were bothered by the government’s “level of respect” for pedestrians.
“It bothers me that government have this kind of level of respect for pedestrians. Paano tatawid sa tamang tawiran, Kung Hindi tama ang tawiran,” it wrote on Saturday.
Kalyetista also suggested that authorities should at least demolish a portion of the concrete midsection so that people will not have difficulty in crossing the pedestrian lane.
“Pakibakbak po ang maliit na portion ng plant box/midsection na Ito para makagaan ng maayos ang tatawid,” it said. /jpv
