Man shot dead in Davao del Sur

DIGOS CITY—A man was shot dead by still unidentified gunmen here on Friday morning.

Lt. Col. Deozar Almasa, city police director, identified the victim as Junard Dimanalao, a resident of Purok Maligaya, Balindog in Kidapawan City.

He said the victim was sitting on a chair at a sari-sari store along Quezon Avenue when he fell, the back portion of his body oozing with blood, prompting police operatives at the nearby Estrada Compact to immediately respond.

The victim was brought to the Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital for medical treatment but was pronounced dead by the attending physician.

Almasa said police recovered from the victim one black pouch with P2,710 cash, three large sachets of suspected shabu (crystal meth), an improvised “toother,” two cellphones, and other personal belongings. /ee
