MANILA, Philippines — The Manila Police District on Thursday conducted bomb and active shooting simulation exercises in Intramuros, Manila, to ensure public safety for this year’s Holy Week commemoration.
The first scenario was a bomb detonated in front of the Manila Cathedral which “injured” several church attendees.
The second scenario showed a lone gunman shooting churchgoers at the San Agustin Church.
MPD’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and Manila Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) responded to the scene.
The exercises lasted for almost an hour. /cbb
