MANILA, Philippines — The suspect allegedly involved in the killing of a 28-year-old woman and her two children, aged five and eight, has been arrested in a follow-up operation, the Bulacan Provincial Police chief said.

Col. Chito Bersaluna confirmed in a phone interview with INQUIRER.net on Thursday that one of the persons of interest identified was nabbed hours after the bodies of Jaymee Casabuena and her children’s bodies were found inside their house in Barangay Kaypian, San Jose del Monte.

“Arestado na, mamaya ipe-presenta raw ni Chief PNP (General Oscar Albayalde) sa Camp Olivas, sa Pampanga,” Bersaluna said.

Earlier, a policewoman from the San Jose del Monte police station also affirmed that a suspect has been arrested.

The Bulacan police chief added that the suspect has admitted to killing the three.  However, his identity was withheld.

He also said that the initial motive of the suspect was to steal, but investigators are confirming whether the woman was also raped.

“Initiallly, ang kwento nung suspect, pagnakawan na lang sana nila.  Pagnanakaw ang unang motibo natin d’yan.  Siguro pumunta doon, baka tinangka ding halayin, pero hindi naman nila inaamin at wala pa rin tayong resulta from SOCO (Scene of the Crime Operations),” he explained.

The incident was initially discovered by her older sister Wednesday night, but initial investigation stated that the three victims might have been dead since Tuesday. /cbb
