MANILA, Philippines — More than four hours of waiting at the airport for a flight?
Senator Panfilo Lacson took to Twitter on Wednesday to lament his experience of waiting for hours at the airport during his recent trip to and from Cebu.
Lacson shared that last Monday, April 1, he waited for four hours and 15 minutes for a Cebu-bound flight when the actual flight took only one hour.
The following day, the senator said he again waited for three hours and 20 minutes for a flight back to Manila when the actual travel time was only one hour.
“What’s happening?,” Lacson asked.
What’s happening?
01 Apr… Mnl-Cebu: flying time – 1 hr; waiting time – 4 hrs 15 mins
02 Apr… Cebu-Mnl: flying time – 1 hr; waiting time – 3 hrs 20 mins— PING LACSON (@iampinglacson) April 2, 2019
Lacson, however, did not mention the airline that was responsible for the delays in flight times.
Noting that the traffic in Metro Manila costs around P3.5 billion a day, the senator wondered how much is lost due to air traffic congestion in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia).
“If corruption is counter-productive, inefficiency and incompetence could even be worse,” he said. /cbb
The worsening traffic in Metro Manila now costs P3.5 billion daily in lost opportunities as per study made by JICA. I wonder how much more is lost due to NAIA’s air traffic congestion. If corruption is counter-productive, inefficiency and incompetence could even be worse.
