Over 11,000 cops to secure Metro Manila this summer

MANILA, Philippines — More than 11,500 police officers will be deployed in Metro Manila to ensure safety of the public during the summer vacation months the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said Tuesday.

Major General Guillermo Eleazar, NCRPO director, mandated all district directors and station commanders to improve their police operations and put up police assistance desks and tourist police assistance desks.

The NCRPO also coordinated with its Regional Community Affairs Development Division to distribute safety tips and flyers in vacation spots.

Eleazar also asked the public to report the presence of suspicious individuals or activities to the nearest police station or police assistance desk. / gsg
