ISABELA, Philippines —The second day of campaigning was filled with activities for incumbent Gov. Faustino “Bojie” Dy, who is running for vice governor of Isabela province.
It began with an early conference together with congressional bet and current League of Barangay National President Faustino Inno Dy for the organization of cooperatives’ activities in the town of Echague.
Right after this, the elder Dy proceeded to the town of Sta. Maria, where he was joined by gubernatorial bet Rep. Rodito Albano to inspect a newly built bridge.
In the afternoon, a motorcade drove through the city of Cauayan. Together with the city’s mayor Bernard Faustino Dy, the motorcade included both Faustino and Bojie Dy.
The people warmly welcomed Dy and the rest of the candidates running for local office in Cauayan. From Hacienda San Luis, where one of the town’s museums is located, the motorcade traversed the different barangays of Cauayan City before ending in front of the town’s city hall.
Squeals of support and applause were warmly given to the passing motorcade as people lining the streets welcomed them.
Riders of private and public cars also expressed their delight over the event by rolling down their windows and interacting with the motorcade. Dy’s group also happily participated in photo ops and “selfies” with constituents.
Later in the evening, Governor Bodjie attended the program for the 18th anniversary of Cauayan’s foundation day as a city and the opening ceremony for the Gawagaway-yan Festival.
Governor Dy thanked the people of Cauayan for the generous support they had shown him since he first ran for office. He also asked that they give him the same support for the position he is currently running for.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank every one of you because you supported me as the father of Cauayan, as a Congressman for 9 years, and now, as my term is ending,” said Governor Dy in his speech.
Governor Dy is the last Mayor who served Cauayan when it was still a town. Governor Dy and Inno Dy graciously further thanked their constituents for their continued support.
Before the night ended, Governor Dy also attended the La Reina de Echague coronation night in the town of Echague, which is celebrating its 156th founding anniversary.
