MANILA, Philippines — A 31-year-old man reportedly abducted a three-year-old girl, molested her, then tried to turn her over to the police in Valenzuela City on Sunday.
According to authorities, members of the Valenzuela Police Community Precinct 8 were on patrol along Mindanao Avenue near Sto. Rosario Street in Barangay Ugong at about 9 p.m. when some people called them and sought assistance.
One of them was Mario dela Cruz, who reportedly appeared drunk.
Dela Cruz asked the help of the lawmen about a “lost” little girl whom he supposedly found and wanted to turn over to authorities.
Police escorted Dela Cruz and the girl to the Ugong Barangay Hall where officials and personnel of the Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) discovered blood stains on the lower garment of the child.
They asked her what happened and found out that Dela Cruz molested her using his finger and sex organ.
Police arrested Dela Cruz and looked for the girl’s parents.
The girl’s father arrived and said he was putting his children to sleep inside their house in adjacent Barangay Mapulang Lupa at about 6:40 p.m. when he discovered the three-year-old girl already missing.
Upon learning of what the suspect did, the victim’s father filed a case against Dela Cruz.
Dela Cruz underwent a medical examination at the Valenzuela Medical Center and was turned over to the Valenzuela City Police Station for investigation. /cbb
