Cops, NPA rebels clash in Mountain Province-Albayalde
LA TRINIDAD, BENGUET — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Oscar Albayalde said a firefight between the PNP regional mobile group and NPA rebels broke out in Bauko, Mountain Province on Friday morning.
Albayalde did not provide details but said the gun battle, which was ongoing, was initiated by the policemen about 9:30 a.m.
The PNP chief was at Camp Bado Dangwa here for a command conference with the Police Regional Office Cordillera on election matters.
