Widower nabbed for molesting 7-year-old girl in Davao del Sur

DIGOS CITY, Philippines — A 59-year-old widower was arrested here for allegedly molesting a seven-year-old girl on Wednesday here.

Senior Supt. Alan Manibog, provincial police director, on Thursday identified the suspect as Noli Lim Ortega, a resident of Purok 2, Almendras District, Padada, Davao del Sur.

Manibog said the mother of the victim filed a complaint against the suspect.  A witness said he saw the suspect kissing the forehead of the victim and hugging her many times. After a few minutes, the suspect allegedly brought the girl to a dark part of the Poblacion in Padada.

Manibog said the Padada police station immediately responded to their report, which led to the arrest of the suspect.

The authorities are still trying to determine whether the suspect was under the influence of liquor or drugs when the incident happened. They are now preparing charges for ‘acts of lasciviousness’ against the suspect.  /ee
