CABANATUAN CITY – Reelectionist Senator JV Ejercito on Thursday described his rank in recent surveys as “ironic,” saying his lack of television advertisements could have caused his ratings to drop.
In the latest senatorial preference survey of Pulse Asia, Ejercito failed to enter the so-called “Magic 12” as he only ranked 16th.
The survey was conducted from January 26 to 31 using a face-to-face interview.
“Reelectionist ako, meron akong performance, wala akong sabit,” Ejercito said, noting that his poor survey ratings drove him to “work double time” in his campaign.
Ejercito was previously ranked 12th in a Social Weather Stations senatorial survey conducted from Dec. 16 to 19 that was released in January.
He held a motorcade and met with local political leaders from several towns and cities of Nueva Ecija.
According to him, his lack of money to bankroll television ads made this election much harder than that of 2013.
He said he only managed to place TV ads last week, describing the costs as “very prohibitive.”
Ejercito said the passing of the anti-agricultural smuggling law and health care law, which he authored, were some of his accomplishments as a senator.
