Mom begs thieves who stole her bag to return dead daughter’s lock of hair
A mother in England urged the thieves who stole her handbag to return one content that meant the world to her — a lock of her deceased daughter’s hair.
Kirsty Baldwin shared in a Facebook post that she had been a victim of a robbery last Wednesday, March 20.
While on her way home from Manchester Airport, Baldwin said she took a stopover to get a cup of coffee. On her way back to the car, she got mugged, and her handbag containing valuable items, such as an iPad and her purse, was stolen.
Despite her unfortunate experience, Baldwin expressed that all she wanted to retrieve is the lock of hair from her 2-year-old daughter, Ellie. She said Ellie suddenly died six years ago of bronchial pneumonia, as per the Greater Manchester Police (GMP).
“I ask with a heavy heart if you can all share far and wide to see if I can at least get that back,” Baldwin urged.
Baldwin’s post has now gone viral, with 19,000 likes and reactions, and 144,000 shares, as of writing.

“The hair is such a precious item that cannot ever be placed and she’s desperate it’s returned to her,” Castle said.
The officer also provided a description of the thieves, which was revealed to be a man and a woman. The man had “unkempt hair,” while the woman was “white, between 40 and 50 years old, with long, dark hair, which was tied up.” The duo also had a getaway car, described as “small, dark grey/black vehicle in poor condition.” JB
