‘Starstruck’ winner arrested in hit-and-run incident to shoulder victims’ medical expenses

MANILA, Philippines — The winner of GMA’s talent search “Starstruck” who hit two employees of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) while driving in Makati City on Wednesday will shoulder the victims’ medical expenses.

In a statement, the GMA Artist Centre said that the camp of ‘Starstruck’ winner Migo Adecer has contacted the victims and is now coordinating with them regarding the help to be extended.

“GMA Artist Center is closely monitoring the incident involving Migo Adecer. He is willing to assist the two people injured, and his lawyer is now coordinating with them,” the GMA statement reads.

Adecer was driving along Barangay Poblacion in Makati City when he hit MMDA workers Rogelio Castillano and Michelle Gallova Papin.

Police reported that Adecer attempted to escape but was cornered and arrested shortly after. Adecer also hit a police patrol car while trying to escape.

The victims were brought to the Ospital ng Makati for medical treatment while Adecer was taken into custody by the authorities.

Adecer will face charges for reckless imprudence resulting in physical injuries, damage to properties, and disobedience to a person in authority.

“We defer to Migo’s lawyer to address all legal matters regarding this incident,” the GMA Artist Centre said. /ee
