Man arrested for indiscriminate firing in Tondo
MANILA, Philippines — A 41-year-old resident of the Baseco Compound, in Tondo, Manila, was arrested on Monday for alleged indiscriminate firing.
The Ermita police station said suspect Ronald Diokton was arrested shortly after another resident complained about the alleged indiscriminate firing at Block 6, Baseco Compound around 3:40 p.m.
Police immediately sent officers from the Baseco PCP and the Intelligence Personnel led by PSI Salvador Inigo Jr. to the area. They were accompanied by four barangay (village) tanods (watchmen).
According to police, Diokton attempted to escape arrest, but failed.
Recovered from the suspect was a caliber .38 revolver without serial numbers. Also recovered from the scene were six empty shells.
Diokton was brought to Baseco PCP before undergoing a medical examination at the Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center in Manila.
