LIGAO CITY – A building to house the regional Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) will soon be constructed on a 10,248 square meter lot at Tuburan village this city.
Ligao Mayor Patricia Gonzalez-Alsua and PSA Assistant Secretary Daniel Ariazo Jr. signed on Monday the deed of donation of the establishment of PSA.
“This will cater to thousands of clients from across the region who will get necessary documents like birth, marriage certificates and other civil registrar documents,” Ariazo said.
The building will also be solar powered with a sewerage treatment facility and would serve as a model of other offices in the country.
PSA Bicol Director Cythia Perdiz said the construction of the office would both benefit employees and clients.
“We will no longer rent office and it will be more spacious and convenient at all times,” she said.
“It would be great to have our office particularly if the archive for the region would be transferred and once decentralized, it would be no longer tedious and faster for employees in retrieving the files,” she added.
Gonzalez-Alsua said having the PSA building erected in the city is part of bringing services closer to people.
“The location is very strategic which connects six provinces [of Bicol],” she said.
